The next time you want to get out of Cape Town and go somewhere different for lunch, I suggest you head up the West Coast and find yourself a table at Breeze Restaurant. This hip and happening eatery is located in the heart of Langebaan and serves up some of the most tantalising tapas and superb seafood on the coastline!

I recently visited Breeze Restaurant with my mom for a long overdue ladies’ lunch. We were feeling spontaneous that day, so we decided to head out of town to somewhere near the sea where we could sip on cocktails while breathing in the ocean breeze – and so we landed up at this trendy spot.

Situated inside Windtown Lagoon Hotel, Breeze Restaurant is a trendy, comfortable space that boasts modern décor and a fantastic menu. Although they’re not situated right on the beachfront, you can see the ocean from the lovely terrace, which was enough for us.

To kick off, my mom and I both ordered a berry mojito. Our drinks arrived quickly and were refreshing. To eat, we decided to order up different dishes to share – the zucchini keftedes with feta and dill, Asian salt and pepper calamari and tentacles with wasabi mayo, and vegetarian pasta with feta, onions, mushrooms, peppers and tomato.

Our food too came out promptly, and everything was incredible. I especially enjoyed the calamari and tentacles, which were perfectly crispy. My mom thought that the vegetarian pasta, which was done in the most luxuriously creamy sauce, was the winner. Sadly, we had no room left for dessert, but we’ll be returning soon to try out some of the other mouth-watering menu items!

All in all, we had a fabulous time at Breeze Restaurant. The food was glorious, the service efficient and the setting simply sublime. It’s a great spot to enjoy cocktails and a lazy lunch with the girls or your loved one. Check it out the next time you’re up the coast – I reckon it’s one of Langebaan’s best restaurants!
